Mr. Keller called Pro Roofing & Siding to assess his hail damage in Roswell Georgia. We found damage and are working with Mr. Keller’s insurance company. In most states, insurance companies are required to replace a damaged roofing system if it is older than 5 years and the shingles no longer bend but break or crack when lifting them. Due to this, a repair would not work because while replacing the damaged shingles more would be cracked and broken.
Hail is formed when rain drops freeze. The longer that thunderstorm wind keeps these frozen rain drops from falling to the ground, the larger the hail will be. They will range from .25” to 1.5” in diameter, but have been recorded as large as 7.9”. Roof damage can depend on the angle of falling hail and the pitch of your roof. This being said, one roof can have lots of damage while the neighboring roof has no or minimal damage.
Hail Damage to a home can include:
- Hail damage to shingles can cause granule loss.
- Hail damage to siding can cause minor splitting.
- Hail damage to paint can cause pock-marks.
- Hail damage to metal fixtures and gutters can cause denting.
